| Buffalo Grove is a village located in Northwest suburban Cook and Lake counties in Illinois. The town was named for Buffalo Creek, which was itself named for bison bones found in the area. As of the 2000 census, the village population was 42,909. Today, the village is largely developed. Approximately one-quarter of the village's 9.2 square miles is reserved for nature preserves and parks. |

- Adlai E. Stevenson High School is an award winning four year public high school. It was ranked 87th in the nation and 5th in Illinois by Newsweek's Top High Schools in America. It is one of only four high schools nationwide to have received the Blue Ribbon School Award of Excellence four times by the U.S. Department of Education, the highest academic award a school can receive.
- District 96 Schools include elementary and middle schools ranked in the top 25 schools in the state.
- Metra Service Station on Metra's North Central Service line, which provides daily rail service between Antioch, Illinois and Chicago, Illinois (at Union Station).
- Didier Farms has been a family farm since 1912. Originally, the farm raised dairy and livestock, then later vegetables. Now, the farm has three seasons with our Greenhouse, Farmstand and Pumpkin Festival.
